Jessica Grace Wing appeared to those of us who knew her to be the woman whom the hoary cliche' "talented as she is lovely" was invented to describe. A composer, web designer, film-maker - these are only some of the hats she wore with great verve. We here at VTM were lucky enough to work with her first when she agreed to design the site you are now surfing, as well as our distinctive logo. Jessica's clean and elegant version of how an arts organization's site should look has stood us in good stead over the years (this site went up in 1999) and we aren't planning to change it any time soon.
An authentic presence whose absence will remain deeply felt, Jessica was lost to the New York Arts community in 2003 when the cancer she had gallantly resisted overcame even her enormous energy. But her gifts continue to be celebrated, not only (and hardly adequately) in these web pages, but in the beautiful memorial site her family and friends resurrected in her honor. It was part of Jessica's charm to be unpretentiously and effortlessly up-to-date, and so it should come as no surprise to the residents of cyberspace that fitting tribute to this emblematically modern young woman should begin with the words, "click here."
